SuperTree is a powerful animated tree-style menu which supports an unlimited number of nested levels and links. Items are either 'folders' or 'pages': a folder is an item that contains other items; a page is an item that doesn't. (SuperTree works out what's a folder and what's a page automatically, but you'll see these terms used in this documentation.) An item can also be a non-reactive separator line, dividing the menu items into groups.
Folders use two-stage icons for 'open' and 'closed' states, and pages use a single icon. You can specify default icons to be used for all items, and any item can override the default to use an individual icon. Any item can also have its own individual text color, and folders and pages can have different fonts.
SuperTree can auto-collapse unused branches for compactness, and display scroll-buttons above and below the tree. If not in auto-collapse mode, users can expand any number of folders; SuperTree uses an intelligent 'scroll-into-view' feature to display the newly-revealed items. A chosen branch can be expanded at startup.
SuperTree provides full control over spacing between items' text, icons and toggle boxes. The toggle boxes are optional: if you choose to display them, you can choose a variety of two-stage color options for them. An optional full-width selector bar can be displayed.
SuperTree supports mouse-wheel scrolling in Internet Explorer 6, transparency in compatible browsers, 6 separate sound events, and status bar messages for each item. An optional text message can be displayed while the applet loads. SuperTree also supports the Cool Focus Satellite system.
