NewsAgent is a news-ticker applet that displays text included in a parameter or retrieved from a remote text file. When used in 'remote' mode, NewsAgent will regularly check for updates to the text file. Text is automatically wrapped onto as many lines as needed and displays in a character-by-character typewriter style.The font and all colors are editable, and there are various background options including the use of a background image. The text can be set to loop a specified number of times or indefinitely, and animation pauses and speeds are fully editable.
A click within the applet area toggles the animation between pause/resume, or opens a URL, according to chosen mode. Tooltip messages can be displayed within the applet area when the mouse enters. NewsAgent also supports sounds.
